 What is Longmont Children's Council?
Longmont
Children's Council is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive preschool programming
to 3 & 4 year old children. We receive a Federal grant to administer
the Head Start program and local funding to provice preschool services
to additional children. Longmont Children's Council serves 198 students in 12 half-day preschool
classes located in several locations in Longmont.
What is Head Start?
Head Start
is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families.
Children who attend Head Start participate in a wide variety of educational
activities. They also receive healthy meals and snacks and a variety of
medical services. Head Start also offers families educational opportunities,
referral services and many other activities throughout the year.
